RESPONSE by: Ellen D'aniello (08/31/2005 08:32 PM)
Subject: Instructors entering discussions
As an individual who often is in the role of a subject matter expert (SME) at work, I know I will have to keep myself from jumping in to the discussion. I also wonder at what point I should comment to an individual about violating netiquette. In the first training module there was an example of a group study project where two individuals were off and running and didn't feel that the rest of their group was working hard enough. Frustration was very evident in the discussion and I thought that the instructor should have stepped in but they did not appear to based on the discussion thread. Is it better to stay out unless someone complains or should we be proactive?
