Subject: Asynchronous
I've heard that too. Most students can cope with a certain amount of delay. Traditionally, I check every day for messages, etc.

The alternative to the delays associated with asynchronous is to have some type of synchronous chat. I have taught online classes with the chat feature. I don't know if this platform supports the synchronous chat feature. If it does you really should have the dates and times announced as part of the course. One of the advantages of the asynchronous classes is that students work at the times of THEIR choosing.
