Learn How to Navigate this Course
Empire State College Center for Distance Learning (CDL) offers online courses using the SUNY Learning Network (SLN) Course Management System. SLN provides your course template and technical support. The student orientation is an interactive practice course offered by the SUNY Learning Network. If you are taking your first online course at The Center for Distance Learning (CDL) of Empire State College, the orientation will help you become familiar with course navigation, transferring files, and participating in discussion. It is required of all first-time online students, and takes about an hour to complete.
Your course content, instruction, evaluation, and credits are provided by Empire State College Center for Distance Learning. You will notice that some of the SLN documents are organized a little differently from those you've already seen - SLN serves all SUNY colleges and universities, and has a slightly different approach from CDL. Empire State College Center for Distance Learning specializes in distance learning education for adult learners, and has adapted the Course Information documents to address the needs of distance and adult learners. However, the technical aspects of the courses all work in the same way.
