Description: | The Center for Learning and Technology seeks a software developer/instructional technologist for a team that will design and develop technology-rich learning experiences for adult learners in science and mathematics. This is a three year, grant-funded project.
Responsibilities:
· Provide programming and software engineering services for projects designed by the grant team.
· Work with curriculum experts, instructional designers and media specialists to identify and design web-based, multimedia and/or interactive learning applications for students and faculty.
· Design and program visualizations, simulations and immersive learning experiences to support science and math learning for adult college students.
· Assist the team in adapting and using existing science and math software tools and applications with distance students. |
Minimum Qualifications: | Bachelor's degree, preferably in educational technology, information technology or related field. Ability to create web-based interactive and multimedia learning materials. Experience with one or more web programming languages. Knowledge of object-oriented programming methodologies. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and on a development team. |
Preferred Qualifications: | Experience developing e-learning materials (visualizations, animations, simulations or interactive web activities). Experience using one or more of the following: Java, PHP, ASP/JSP, ActionScript, JavaScript, DHTML, MySQL, CGI/Perl, XML. 3-D modeling software (e.g. Maya, AutoCAD, etc). Experience in any of the following areas: using technology to support teaching of mathematics or science courses; working with college faculty. Familiarity with learning object development and related standards. |
Special Information (e.g., travel required, evening hours, etc.): | This is a three-year, grant-funded position. Rank/Salary: | $38,000-$45,000 |
