Description:
Empire State College’s Center for Learning and Technology seeks a full time Audio Visual Technician at its Coordinating Center in Saratoga Springs, New York. The college serves adult learners across a variety of learning modes including blended learning, guided independent study, study groups and residency activities.

Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate and maintain audio visual systems.
- Set up and operate video recording equipment.
- Digital audio recording.
- Video and audio editing.
- Experience with and knowledge of computer and network systems.
- Encoding video and audio into digital files.
- Good organizational skills, ability to maintain schedule.
- Physically able to lift 40 pounds.
- Able to maintain professional demeanor in stressful environments.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or technical training certificate. At least one year experience working directly with college faculty. Three years work with maintaining and using video and audio recording and playback equipment. Three years experience setting up and maintaining media equipment in academic setting. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and on a development team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with non-linear editing systems for audio and video editing. Basic understanding of computer networks. Experience with media encoding software such as Sorenson Squeeze. Experience with VoIP computer conferencing software such as Elluminate. Experience with media facility wiring and construction. Experience with networked video environments.
Special Information (e.g., travel required, evening hours, etc.):
Occasional evening and weekend hours, and occasional day trips and overnight travel within New York State. This position is best suited to someone who prefers a fast paced environment and seeks to actively develop new skills and grow in understanding of learning and technology.
