Description:
Reporting to the president and guided by the Environmental Sustainability Committee, the Director will coordinate all of the college’s activities related to responsible environmental programs, including recycling, education, communication, programming, procurement and policies.

The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Planning and coordinating all environmental sustainability efforts on the part of the college;
- Co-chairing, supporting and managing the efforts of the Environmental Sustainability Committee;
- Working closely with all college divisions, but especially the VP of Administration, staff in Facilities and with regional deans to coordinate energy efforts within the overall environmental agenda;
- Maintaining the environmental sustainability website and developing other communications materials;
- Interacting with various local, regional, state and federal entities to determine best practices, compliance issues and to seek external funding for college projects;
- Working with various academic areas to develop and coordinate academic and programmatic engagement within the college’s environmental sustainability vision;
- Working with faculty in the development and implementation of Environmental Residencies;
- Coordinating annual environmental sustainability reassignments;
- Supervising any additional employees that may be hired in furtherance of this mission;
- Participating in strategic planning initiatives, as they relate to environmental sustainability issues;
- Representing of the college in all external relationships [AASHE, ACUPCC, etc.].
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Public Administration or Policy, Urban Planning or a related field;
- Practical or research experience in a sustainability related area, preferably in a college or university;
- Excellent written, verbal and inter-personal skills, as well as team building and collaborative skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse populations.
