Description:
Serving in both the MBA and Master’s of Social Policy Program (which includes a focus in Security Policy), this position will require teaching a range of topics which may include information assurance, MIS, and Informatics. The individual hired must be prepared to work in a fast growing and agile higher education environment which is experiencing rapid growth.

The Center for Graduate Programs serves over 1,000 students per year in five master’s degree programs. All courses in the Center have an online component. The role of the faculty member is to provide high-quality educational services to students and to enhance the college’s reputation within the community. Involvement in college governance is also expected.

A highly distributed organization, Empire State College makes extensive use of technological applications for communication, teaching and learning, and administrative purposes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in an appropriate discipline. Preference will be given to those with professional experience as well as those with experience in program development. The successful applicant will possess strong communication and organizational skills and a desire to develop innovative learning experiences. Duties include teaching 2-3 courses per semester, scholarly activities, and university service.
Preferred Qualifications:
All members of the Center for Graduate Programs should be prepared to work in an organization which is evolving in its technological sophistication and its practice of openness and agility. We therefore hope that candidates bring some level of technical experience (or a strong willingness to learn) and are willing to work in a collaborative team based environment with a great deal of project based work.
Special Information (e.g., travel required, evening hours, etc.):
The MBA and Social Policy programs require teaching in several residency weekends per year. Office hours will vary to accommodate student and program needs. Some travel required.
Rank/Salary:
Tenure-track, Assistant Professor, 12-month appointment, salary begins at $72,000-$75,000
